Transportation

Animal Delivery Trucks

Manitoba hog farmers devote time and care in raising their pigs and want to ensure they are always handled and transported safely and humanely.

To ensure pigs are handled humanely, herdspersons are trained to handle the animals safely and with minimal stress to themselves and the animals.

Pig transporters in Manitoba are held to a high standard as outlined in the Code of Practice for the transportation of pigs, government legislation, and the Transport Quality Assurance program. Manitoba also has an Emergency Response Unit to respond to accidents involving pigs.
