The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Commodities Risk Management, the position is responsible for ensuring tasks and reporting duties associated with feed ingredient procurement and hog risk management are completed with accuracy and within allotted timelines. This position is a full time, office role located in Landmark, Manitoba.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

Position Duties related to grain commodities:
• Investigate and advise on ingredient and freight related price variances
• Prepare and file grain levy reports in accordance with industry deadlines and file payment requests to Accounts Payable
• Entry of commodity supplier contracts into SAP, ensuring details are accurate and visible to stakeholders
• Use related inventory and PO reports from SAP to update Excel based inventory reports
• Collect and submit information required for new SAP vendor approvals
• Prepare and distribute producer grain contracts from information provided
• Communicate grain contract and freight related information to Ingredient Coordinators as required

Position Duties related to hog risk management:
• Maintenance of market information files
• Market research, analysis and presentation
• Maple Leaf Forward Contracting-Contractor: assist in filling hog producer forward contract requests on the Maple Leaf forward contracting website
• Assist in maintenance of forward contract target pricing files as required
• Assist/back-up in execution of future trades as required

What you will bring:
• Post-secondary education in Agri-business, business administration or management preferred
• Previous experience in an analytical role
• Previous experience working in the grain/hogs/livestock industry
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner on complex processes and issues
• Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; experience within an SAP environment is an asset
• Highly motivated; capable of delivering winning results and deadline oriented
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
