Full-time – 40 hours per week
Salary Range – $62,400 to 83,200
The compensation package includes a production bonus, company truck, benefits plan and pension plan.
Porcherie Lac du Onze Ltee (PLDO), located in Notre Dame de Lourdes, in south-central Manitoba, is currently searching to fill a new position of “Finisher Production Supervisor.” PLDO owns 5,000 sows, including in-house multiplication, 17,000 nursery spaces, a feed mill and trucking. PLDO also oversees the production of 30,000 finisher spaces with a new liquid feeding system and hog transportation.
The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure while handling multiple tasks. Weekend and holiday work is required on a rotational basis. A valid driver’s licence and a vehicle are required to get to and from work A minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial hog production and two years of management experience is required. The ability to communicate in English is required.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Finisher Production Supervisor is responsible for the operations and performance of the company finisher sites. Duties include: Working directly with site managers to maximize the health and welfare of all animals at the farm, monitoring and maintaining production targets, overseeing liquid feeding systems, implementing and enforcing company procedures, organizing staff schedules to meet workloads, training new and existing employees, implementing and enforcing biosecurity policies, overseeing the repair and maintenance of farm equipment and working with the production manager to find creative solutions to improve productivity and employee experience.
