Sow Barn Manager position

Looking for a Hands-on Barn manager to oversee a 1100 sow farrow to wean sow barn
Location – North of Rivers MB area
Full Time – 40 hours per week
Salary – Based on qualifications and experience

We are a family farm that take pride in caring for our pigs. This Multiplier sow barn was built in 2019 housing 1100 sows, the gestation section of the farm has group housing and is equipped with electronic sow feeders. We strive to maintain a positive work setting and encourage a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Managing and directing daily operations including breeding, gestation, farrowing
• Managing health and welfare of all animals on farm
• Maintaining production targets
• Organizing staff’s day to day operations and staff schedules to meet workload
• Keeping a positive work environment for all employees
• Enforcing and maintaining biosecurity policies
• Enforcing and maintaining barn protocols

A successful candidate will have:

• Strong leadership abilities
• Problem solving skills
• Strong communication
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the pig industry
• Ability to work under pressure while handling multiple tasks
